Astragalus membranaceus, or Astragalus propinquus, is the scientific name for the plant known as Mongolian milkvetch in English or huang qi in Mandarin. It is a perennial, flowering plant in the family Fabaceae. Astragalus membranaceus is one of fifty fundamental herbs used in traditional Mongolian medicine.
