Thiamine (or Thiamin) is otherwise known as Vitamin B1. Thiamine is an essential micronutrient, which cannot be synthesised in the body. It is found in food and commercially synthesised to be a dietary supplement or medication. Within the human body, Thiamine is required for the metabolism of glucose, amino acids, and lipids.
