Equisetum arvense is the scientific name for the field Horsetail or common Horsetail plant. Equisetum arvense is an herbaceous perennial plant native throughout the arctic and temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Equisetum arvense contains several substances that may be used medicinally. It is rich in Silicon, Potassium, Calcium, Manganese, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Phytosterols, Dietary Fiber, Vitamins A, E and C, Tannins, Alkaloids, Saponins, Flavonoids, and Glycosides.
