D-alpha-Tocopherol is a naturally occurring molecule of alpha-Tocopherol (i.e. the most biological active form of Vitamin E). Among the different alpha-Tocopherols, D-alpha-Tocopherol has the highest vitamin activity. Studies have shown that D-alpha-Tocopherol exhibits superior bioavailability compared to synthetically manufactured ones (i.e. the DL-alpha-Tocopherol) in retaining in tissues, alleviating lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory response, and improving meat quality and muscular antioxidant capacity.
